Welcome to visitors
The Department of Chemistry extends its welcome to visitors from all over the world. Visitors to the department will usually have specific circumstances for visiting and time spent in the Department will vary.
All visitors should got to reception where they will sign in and meet their host. The process and documentation varies for each type of visitor:
- Day visitors (e.g. as a speaker, attending meetings) require a day pass and must sign in/out at Reception.
- Short term visitors working in the Department for 4 weeks or less must complete a Safety Induction Checklist pdf and (word doc) sign in at Reception and then sign out on their last day in the Department, returning their mifare access card. Please see 'Process for Completing Visitors (short term)'.
- All visitors of over 4 weeks need to complete online registration and a Visitor Agreement. There are 3 key types of visitor for this process; Employed visitors (visitors employed in another institution/organisation), Independent visitors and Student visitors
- A relevant Visitor Agreement must be completed:
- The Visitors Agreement requires information regarding the visit to the department and also a signed agreement from the Department of Chemistry, the Visitor and their home institution (if applicable)
- Terms and conditions will be provided by the admin team with the Visitor Agreement.
- A visitor information request form or student proforma, will be sent out by the relevant group secretary.
- All mifare access cards must be returned to reception at the end of the visit.
- For more information on visitor agreements please access the main HR page
